My Mission

Feel free to read all this or click the green button to link to my educational resume and move on with your day.

As you can see from these photos, I was an extremely normal high schooler, totally blended in and did everything by the book...er, ok, maybe that's not entirely true...

I was definitely a pretty odd theater kid growing up and I always try to bring that unique energy into every classroom and workshop I teach. My teaching ethos can be divided into three strong driving forces: empathy, humor, and community.

Empathy

I want to foster a feeling of grace, respect and understanding. As an educator, it is extremely important to me to know that every child is unique and I will always try to meet them where they are.

Humor

School and theater are important to me. They mean a lot and I take them incredibly seriously. However, that doesn't mean that lessons don't need to be fun, engaging, and bring out a sense of humor whenever possible.

Community

I want to build a community not only with my students, but with my fellow faculty and teaching artists. As a theater kid I have always enjoyed collaboration and it's something I bring into my everyday life in school as well. Community building is paramount in my journey as an educator.
